Central Florida Triathlon Series – Race #1 – Under the Sea

Start Time: 7:15AM
Race Venue: Clermont’s Waterfront Park, 330 3rd. Street – “World Triathlon Destination”
Directions: Clermont is located 20 minutes west of Orlando at the intersection of US HWY 27 and State Road 50. From State Road 50 in Clermont, take East Avenue north one mile to Palm Avenue and the entrance to Waterfront Park. Waterfront Park is on the southern shores of Lake Minneola.
Sprint Triathlon: 440 yard Swim, 10.4 mile Bike, 5K Run
Super Fun Sprint Triathlon: 200 yard Swim, 8 mile Bike, 2 mile Run
SWIM – The 440 yard swim course is a rectangular shaped course in Lake Minneola. The projected water temperature is expected to be 82-84. Wetsuit use is in accordance with USAT rules.
BIKE – The bike course travels clockwise around Lake Minneola with the 10.4 mile cyclists riding 2 additional miles in the residential area of Clermont.
RUN – The run course is an out and back course on the South Lake Trail.
Duathlon: New for 2015 will be a Sprint Duathlon. Duathlon athletes will run 1 mile, cycle 10.4 miles, and then run 3.1 miles to finish.
Amenities: Finisher medal, colorful event tech T-shirt, accurately measured and well monitored course, post race Be-Inspiring party with real food, beer, and live entertainment. Registering by10 days before the race ensures proper t-shirt size.
Special Commemorative 5th medal to all athletes who finish ALL four races.
Awards: Sprint Triathlon – Top three overall, top masters, and the top three in each division, male and female.
Relay Teams – Top three teams in each of the following categories: All Male, All Female, and Mixed.
Duathlon – Top 3 finishers overall, male and female.
No Division Awards are presented for the Super Fun Sprint Triathlon.
Entry Fees*: Registration Opens October 6 at 7:00pm. Individual races in the Central Florida Triathlon Series feature date based pricing. The 4 event race package features block entry fee pricing. In both instances, the earlier you sign up, the cheaper your registration fee is.

* All participants in all events must show proof of current USA Triathlon Membership or purchase a one-day USAT License at check-in ($12). The entry fees posted above do not included USA Triathlon membership fees.
Club and Group Discounts: Sommer Sports offers a great discounted race entry program for clubs, groups, and active military organizations.
Volunteers: Be part of all the excitement at one of Sommer Sport’s events. Whether you have just a couple of hours to spare, or the entire day, your help will make a difference. Grab a bunch of friends, family or co-workers and create a team to staff one of the water stations located along the course. Positions are available to fit any schedule.
Lodging: The Holiday Inn Express Clermont is the official host hotel for this event and is the closest hotel to Waterfront Park. To obtain the best room rate possible, ask for the “Sommer Sports” rate when calling.
Race Day Parking: Event specific parking information is sent out race week as part of the final race confirmation email. Please note that the main parking areas at Waterfront Park fill quickly. If you plan to arrive less than 60 minutes prior to the start of the first race, plan on parking west of Waterfront Park at the Fifth Street parking area, or Downtown Clermont between 7th and 8th Streets.

COURSE: All 4 monthly events are held on the same exact course allowing athletes to chart their progress during the series.
SERIES STANDINGS: Series standings will be updated and posted online the week following each race.
SERIES POINTS: Points are awarded to all official finishers based on their finish time. Division placing has no impact on the points awarded.
SERIES AWARDS: Series awards will be presented to the top three overall points winners, top masters winner, and the top three in each division, male and female. To be eligible for series awards you must complete all four events and race in the same category all four races (i.e. Age Group, Open, Clydesdale, etc.)
SERIES PRIZES: To be announced May 20, 2014.
